Me oowwouch in the litter pan. When do you need to throw out “spoiled” diets.
By: Dr. Gary Pusillo
My daily routine includes my favorite cheeses and appropriate wine after I arrive home from the office. Cheese does not last forever so I have a rule of thumb when I see mold. If I see mold on hard cheeses (cheddar, Parmesan, Swiss, aged gouda, Romano,) I remove the moldy portion and about1/4 inches near it and I eat it. I am more careful when eating soft cheeses because the molds have a habit of going throughout the cheese...

In the world of fat supplements for animals most supplement and feed companies treat your pet as if you were at a Pretzel stand. To the traditional supplement and feed companies your pet only needs the “pretzel” that they sell no matter the species, age or physical condition of your pet. If you have a Amazon parrot, “give them one of our pretzels”. If you have a poodle, “give them one of our pretzels”. If you have a tiger “give them a big one of our pretzels”. If you need something a little...

Every morning before I go to my office, I take a very brisk 1 mile walk on the gravel road that borders our farm. I feel I have the major responsibility in preventing my body from becoming a hood ornament. If I jump directly in front of a speeding car that I know is approaching at take-off velocity, I deserve what I get.
Each day, no matter how inconvenient it might be to get prepared for my walk, I put on bright cloths so the drivers can see me in any type of weather situation. I walk on the best side of the road for the type...

Cats bring so much to our lives and expect very little in return. I think this, rings true for most households whether life is just too busy or ‘Fifi’ doesn’t want to be pet when you’re available, our cats sometimes get ‘left out’. I have dedicated the past 6 months struggling to find a diet routine that is right for our new puppy ‘Zack’ and I must say the poor old cat has been feeling like a bit of an outsider. Love and affection given to most cats comes in the form of a bag of food or a can which they...

Are you as upset about the Gulf Coast Oil spill as I am and all of the cover-ups and lack of honesty to solve this disaster? Treating an oil spill with dispersive chemicals allows the surface to hide so many secrets. The current oil spill is exactly what has taken place in the pet food industry for the last 50 years. Commercial “dead-food” providers have caused an ‘oil spill’ that has made its way to affect the health of all dogs and cats that simply survive on this highly processed dead food.
This is the year...

By Peter Kaufman:
Just because a dog or cat loves to eats a particular food doesn’t mean they should eat it. Dog’s especially are notorious for eating almost anything i.e furniture, shoes and even their own poo.
Why then do we use our pet’s reaction (positive or negative) to a particular food or treat as the barometer of whether or not we feed it? Of course food and treats have to be palatable but should we compromise (or give in to guilt) and allow junky ingredients or empty calories to over ride good nutrition?...
