Oil ‘Sludge’ & Pet Food – What’s the Difference?

Are you as upset about the Gulf Coast Oil spill as I am and all of the cover-ups and lack of honesty to solve this disaster? Treating an oil spill with dispersive chemicals allows the surface to hide so many secrets. The current oil spill is exactly what has taken place in the pet food industry for the last 50 years. Commercial “dead-food” providers have caused an ‘oil spill’ that has made its way to affect the health of all dogs and cats that simply survive on this highly processed dead food.

This is the year the ‘oil spill’ has finally made it to the very heart of nature’s supporting environments. Under the ocean of advertisement and slick emotional marketing is an inescapable leak of “oil”, unprecedented because the profits at stake are so high.

The huge oil companies will never allow control of offshore drilling since they will give billions in favors, cash and material gifts to all that grant immunity. The huge multi-national pet food companies will continue to provide pet care professionals with similar perks for promoting and endorsing their ‘sludge’. Just like big business owns the EPA, and the EPA owns big business, who owns AAFCO, the regulatory body that governs pet feed? The only ones that really lose from self-serving rules and regulations are the family, friends, associates, and creatures dependent on these organizations for protection….to be continued.

I couldn’t agree with you more!
AAFCO who regulates the pet food labels who works together with the FDA and the CVM (Center for Veterinary Medicine). The Association of American Feed Control Officials is basically a trade organization and guess what… their membership includes many representatives from large pet food manufacturers. Makes you wonder if our pets’ health is outweighed by the money end. (You know conflict of interest). I am not saying that the AAFCO doesn’t have our pets’ health at heart but it would be better if they were not connected to the hip so to speak with pet food companies. (Don’t you think?)
