Ignorance is Not Always Bliss

We all know that the pet industry today has a lot of flaws.  These flaws are now migrating their way over to the human side of things.  Not only can you catch parasites from your pet but now you can catch them just by handling their food!  What worries me is that this information JUST came

Are they really so different? Both need help with the simple things in life we take for granted. This bond can have so many positive effects but do we see it for what it really is? Or is it just a pet?

out on the news a few days ago.  Since then it has now become a concern of pet parents.  Conveniently flaws or ‘cracks’ in the system have light shed upon them when ‘all of a sudden’ humans are affected.  I can say with full confidence that this rings true in many aspects of life.  There are plans in effect to help make our earth a greener place, however how many of us don’t practice the guidelines because ‘it won’t affect us’.  Our politicians continually disappoint us however they appeal to the ‘influential people’ so, if they are happy, a re-election is eminent.  What about the ‘little guy’?  What about those who have been affected negatively?  Ask yourself “Can I sit there while a mother and child struggle to find shelter?” or “Can I stand by while negligence slowly kills a family pet?”  A life is a life and regardless of how much money is to be made or for the sake of ‘saving face’ we should all be obligated to speak up and lend a hand to those who need it.  I had my cell phone stolen a few days ago and I think it might have been a blessing in disguise.  At first I was frantic and so lost that I just needed to sit down and try to sort out this giant mess.  Several thought processes were active in my mind but suddenly only one made sense.  Walk!  I have something far more important than a cell phone, which I have realized has been keeping me from a very special friend of mine… my dog!  Whether human, canine, feline, rodent or any other animal you call a loved one, don’t forget that when you focus on ‘you, you, you’, corners are cut in the lives around you and ignorance is not always bliss.
